only in san francisco can you watch 5 films for $10
Hey Maniax,
With nihilistic and post-apocalyptic films getting released left & right these days,
(everything from Pixar's brilliantly understated WALL*E to Stephen King's realistically horrific THE MIST)
it's time for you to sit yourself down at the Castro Movie Palace for 2 once-in-a-lifetime MiDNiTES FOR MANiACS events!
The first event is on this Saturday July 12 at 10:45pm at the Castro Theatre.
Guy Maddin will be on hand translating aloud the French title cards for Tod Browning's 1927 creepy masterpiece THE UNKNOWN
as a part of the San Francisco Silent Film Festival at the Castro Theatre.
Directed by the same guy who made FREAKS and THE UNHOLY THREE, Lon Chaney plays a knife thrower (who has no arms)
and who is in love with Joan Crawford (who can't stand the touch of a man's hands on her). I will be introducing the program and
giving away some cool Lon Chaney stuff, so be prepared for some trivia!
Buy ADVANCE TIX and check out this weekend's full lineup at www.silentfilm.org
